Mexican Salt Pack + Mystery Jar - VIP
Try both of our new Mexican salts and receive a complimentary mystery jar of salt. What will it be!? No one knows for sure...
Our Oaxacan Sal Blanca is an extra special, limited edition salt from Salinas del Márquez, a flat on the edge of Salina Cruz in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Southern Oaxaca. As the winds blow off the Sierra Madre Norte, the sun-evaporation process starts in the middle of November and continues for several months. Salt making is part of the cultural heritage of the people of the village, who hand harvest, grind, and make their living off the natural salts of their lands.
Use these crunchy, minerally, white crystals on ceviche, grilled veggies, fresh cheeses, margaritas, and mangoes.
Sal de Flor de Colima is harvested by hand and dried naturally by the tropical sun of the Pacific. Harvested in Colima, Sal de Flor is the work of "los salineros" and the generations before them. Sourced exclusively and directly from co-operatives that began in the 1920's, this salt ensures a higher standard of living for every hand that touches it. The Colima co-operative was formed to ensure that harvesting continues using artisanal methods of harvesting, and gives everyone a fair price for their hard work.
Raked from beds and dried only by the sun, these salt crystals are easily broken between the fingers or, left whole, work wonderfully as a finishing salt.
The delicate, foamy crystals are perfect for sprinkling on avocados, grilled skirt steak, watermelon, and homemade tortilla chips.
